BT Financial Group's Runway for Success returned for the seventh consecutive year on April 11th to celebrate Australia's design talent. Label.m Australia were proud to be backstage as the official hair sponsor of the event, with National Creative Director for TONI&GUY and label.m Australia, Katy Reeve, returning as Hair Director.
One of the key highlights of the night is BT’s Emerging Fashion Designer Award, in partnership with the Australian Fashion Chamber. The award celebrates and recognises young designers, with past winners being the likes of macgraw, Albus Lumen and Christopher Esber
This year's finalists for the award include Courtney Holm of A.BCH, Minhee Jo of Aaizél and Blair Archibald of Blair Archibald.
The finalists were selected, from over 50 applications, by an esteemed panel of industry experts including Edwina McCann (Editorial Director, Vogue Australia, Vogue Living, GQ Australia and Co-Chair, Australian Fashion Council).
The three finalists will present their collections alongside some of Australia’s most successful designers at the BT Runway event on 11 April 2019. Of the three finalists, one designer will be announced the winner on the night and will receive a prize valued at over $100,000.
The designers presenting their collections at BT Runway will include, Bianca Spender, Camilla and Marc, Carla Zampatti, Dion Lee, Ginger & Smart, Manning Cartell, Rachel Gilbert and Toni Maticevski. The event is run in support of the charity Dress for Success, whose mission is to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and development tools.
Look One: Soft, natural movement
label.m Blow Out Spray and Volume Foam was applied from root to mid lengths to prep the hair for heat, then blow-dried through. A clean centre part was drawn, then using a flat iron, we created an S-Bend from root to tip for a fresh, natural feel. The look was then finished with label.m Weightless Hairspray.
Look Two: Polished Low Ponytail / Sleeked back
For look two, we added label.m Soft Wax through the root area to create a subtle wet-look finish. Hair was then combed back into a low ponytail / or to the nape of the neck for short hair. The polished finish was then enhanced with label.m Fashion Edition Wax Spray applied to the root area however leaving the natural texture from look one through the ends.
